Question

Hi...

Could anyone recommend an octane boost supplier that sells Miller Octane Plus other than scoobymania?

Thanks,
Matthew

Mathew,

Where are you?

I know a cheap place in Notts but they don't do mail order.

Lee,

Thanks for your reply. I'm in Dorset so Notts is a bit far unfortunately.

They do deliver. Check out their website for prices, I can't remember them off hand.

Andy,

I always used to order it from Scoobymania, but over 3 weeks ago I placed my most recent order for a case and was told it would arrive 2 days later. It didn't. And several phone calls by me (in which each time I was told they would look into it and get back to me, but got no response back) and an email (which was never responded to) later, I still don't have it

I'm sure they are the cheapest, and I always used to be happy with their service. But for some reason unknown to me, I'm now getting zero customer service and satisfaction from them, and I can't be bothered with the hassle of keep phoning them chasing it up anymore.

I'm not too bothered about finding the cheapest place that sells the octane boost... I just want to find somewhere that *will* sell it to me!!

I've been having to run my car on just SUL for more than the last 2 weeks now and I'm just after getting some Millers Octane Plus as soon as possible. So if anyone could point me in the direction of a company that might be able to help me out that doesn't involve me having to chase it up for weeks on end, I would greatly appreciate it.

Many Thanks,
Matthew

I've had the same problem with Scoobymania, ordered the 12 December, phoned multiple times, more than once been told that the case of Millers would turn up tomorrow, and still no sign. I would not mind if someone phoned me and said 'sorry we can't get it' or what ever, its just that they keep on saying you will have it on ?? and it doesn't appear. Well I have looked out their number, and will try again today.

Guys, seems to be a pattern coming out here. I tried ordering some along with clear front indicators between xmas and New Year (not a good time I'll grant). However, it was supposed to come out to me the first working day of the New Year, after a couple of days no show, two phone calls later it arrived - but I suspect only because of chasing.

The only reason I use them is that I don't know who else delivers - sounds like they need to pull their socks up a bit.

FYI,

I order fairly regularly from Scoobymania and have never had ANY problems.

In fact they have always been VERY helpful.
Only my experiences.

Cheers,

Jon

Sending out octane booster is a big problem. All carriers that I know of will not carry imflamable/explosive substances.

It breaches handling, storage and Road Traffic Acts.

If a driver crashed, carrying a load of this stuff, the sender would probably find himself in a small room, with a lot of time on your hands.

Thank you for raising that Pete.

I discovered the same thing when I investigated shipping Wynn's octane booster to the BBS members who had enquired about it.

As a flammable product, octane booster is not acceptable for shipping via the Royal Mail, and you need a specialist carrier to handle it.

Members - how do your existing mail order suppliers send this product to you?

Rich

OK, this can happen anywhere and it's only the bad ones people shout about normally, (Cheers, Leigh, Andy B Mossman).

We move approximately 40 cases of it a month, and Pete is partly correct. Most couriers don't/won't move it because of what it is. Ours does move it (legitamately) but sometimes get it wrong.

And it is markedly more expensive because of the nature of what is being moved. Keep buying though as that is what allowed us to reduce how much we charge for it at the same time that Millers had an across the board price increase.

Cem, Yours is NOT exactly the same. Your order (7 boxes) was 2 parcels, one of which got there OK, the other one arrived back here in perfect condition 2 weeks later with the couriers claiming they couldn't find it.

We are doing what we can but as you can clearly see we aren't perfect, (sorry)
though sometimes we are not to blame either.
I'll get all the queries raised here chased up today.

Mike.

Cool

Matt, If you need some I have a case. You can 'borrow' some till yours shows up.
I'm in Poole, we met at the Bakers Arms last year...Tried to mail you but it keeps bouncing.

This thread reminds me of a quote 'What is it with .....?'

You could always try Millers own Web site for local stockists:

Sorry to say it was, Mike. I got repeated promises from your colleagues (not from you, I must add) that I would get called back. Weeks had passed before I kept having to ring back your guys for explanations. It wasn't until I spoke to you on chat that I found out the boxes had returned to you for some wierd reason.
I don't want this to turn into a slagging match because I DO know from many sources that you have a very reputable business and many many people have been extremely satisfied with your service

I feel that I should come to the defence of Mike here and say that I ordered a case of Octane Booster from Scoobymania back in December and it turned up a few days later no problem.

The only trouble is that I still need a car to use it on, but that is a different story!

Andrew.

We don't sell headlight globes and we can't find any mail from you, can you drop me a mail direct with the text of your original order please?

If your still having problems, you could try ringing Auto-Technica on (01924 494 884), who I belive mail order Millers Octane Booster (very close to Millers plant).

Red face

Mike,

Please accept my sincerest apologies.

I was sort of in rant mode over scoobysports inability to supply my with headlight globes, and I didn't read the post slowly enough before throwing stones.

For the record, I ordered a boost gauge from scoobymania recently and received excellent service.

Sorry again,

Andrew.
