Thumbs up

Thumbs up for this course - fantastic value and great fun. Thanks to JohnS for organising the days and Andrew Walsh for his driving and teaching. Details of the course can be found on the original SIDC BBS thread here.

We (Sal, John (Sal's Dad), Chris with his Elise and me) had a great day. We started the day not knowing what we would be capable of and Andrew saying that he wanted us to the 90 degree bend at 70 or 80 and ended up doing it!!

Our starting circuit times were 1 min 6 for John and I, 1 min 5 for Sal and 1 min 4 for Chris. By the end of the day, Sal, John and myself had this down to 1 min and Chris in the Elise managed 59 seconds. Not a bad improvement!

Highly recommended, especially if you are thinking of doing a track day and haven't done one before. It will teach you a lot about car control.

We're very tempted to book up again in the summer.

Pictures of the day can be found in the Gallery on this thread

Cheers
Chris

Fantastic day

I've always wanted to drive like a hooligan on an airfield and today I did I was really nervous at first and bottled the first task of the day - taking a 45 degree bend at 70 On my first attempt I managed 40 but by the end of the day was doing it no probs.

The circuit driving was brilliant and on my first attempt I was quicker than the boys much to my shock and amusement By the end of the day we were all pretty evenly matched.

I can totally recommend these driver training days, especially if like me you want to take your car out on track for the first time. This course is a fantastic confidence builder and gives you the opportunity to find out just how well your car handles in a very safe environment

Andrew Walsh is a very good instructor and a really nice bloke, at the end of the day he took us for a spin in his Elise, it was the most fun I've ever had in a car

Sal

Sounds like Andrew is going to be very busy over the coming months then

I'm going to do the same course when he comes up to Crail, probably in May .

I've got to say that was the most fun I've had in a long time. Quite amazing what you can do in a car given the space (and some good tuition!).
