Default CAN YOU REMAP A PRODRIVE MAP

Been reading a few posts about remaps after wanting to boost my car slightly, 55 plt wrx 300, now as I'm sure you're all aware it's been thro the $tealers PPP process.
1 can you do it
2 is it gonna be any better and be worth it
3 how much and will have to be done by them boys again?

Thanks for reading, o and would an uprated fuel pump be a cheaper option, can't be arsed with the hassle of a decat either!

Certainly can. Mine was on a PPP Map and it's been mapped quite a few times as different mods have been done. Not a great deal of point in re mapping it just for the sake of it (although you will notics gains) i'd wait till you do mods that require it to be remapped.

Pricesd are cheaper for open source mapping (no licence fee to pay to Ecutek) You'll pay anything from £450-£600

Thats true Nick.

You can only have MY99 ECU's onwards remapped.
New ECU is your only option.

03 STI with PPP is worth remapping, as it has a sports cat fitted as part of the package and you can see some good gains. As above, pre 99 cars can't have the standard ECU mapped.

For a 55 WRX, not sure if you get a sports cat as part of the PPP package worth checking), therefore it would be worth fitting one otherwise I don't think there will be a big difference. It's also worth replacing the panel filter with a decent one (only about £40) and a fuel pump would be good but not essential.

Yes it certainly can be remapped, the Ecutek license normally resides with the ECU not the person who paid for it, ask your mapper to be sure.

A classic PPP can be mapped, but what's the point when somebody is willing to pay stupid money for them on fleabay, you might as well by a second hand standard ecu for about 30 quid and sell the prodrive one for £100 and odd quid.
