Default Advice welcome!

Just had the 50,000 mile service with cambelt change and idlers changed, £770 inc vat ouch!
Next thing will be ppp or any suggestions on something cheaper but the same gains!
been quoted £ 1995 for ppp.
I live in lincolnshire, any nearby garages that could tune my 2003 scooby?
I don't mind paying for uprating the performance ect... BUT £ 1995 for around 40 bhp seems a little steep!
Any suggestions much appriciated.
Thanks.
Mike.

my wrx came with 230bhp. i wasnt bothered about the warranty so i got the afterburner exhaust, k&N panel filter, prodrive lowering springs and remap and i ended up with 280 bhp and 310llbs/ft. still got the main cat on it that needs replacing so a ickle bitmore power there. it cost about £1750. i cant remember now but it was cheaper than the ppp

it might not sound like much of an increase, but when i got the car onto the country roads and booted it comming out of a corner for the first time, i nearly ended up getting thrown in the back of the car u know with all the weight transfering to the rear. had to take a very firm grip of the steering wheel.

got used to it now tho and could do with another 50bhp and torque

maybe you could have a look at a exhaust, filter and a remap, buying a second hand ppp set up will mean you need to get all your keys recoded and would get better gains looking at the first option. depending what turbo/injectors you have will be your initial limit, ie, td04 around 300bhp, presuming you have a wrx. if you want tome good advice to a budget have a chat with a mapper ie jgm or equiv.
hope this helps you a bit i would recommend talking to an expert.

Around £1500 will get a guaranteed 270 to 280 with a decat, Walbro fuel pump and remap. In my experience PPP is expensive and the quoted 261 bhp is optimistic to say the least. How far are you will ng to travel?

Don't bother with PPP, it's a warranty friendly bolt on package with a generic ECU generating around 250bhp.
As has been said, given that warranty is not an issue, you'll get better value for your money by upgrading the exhaust and decatting/sport catting, upgrading the fuel pump and air filter and then remapping specifically for your scoob to see 270/280 bhp

Take a look here for ideas PowerStation
Depending on where you are there are plenty of tuners and mappers around who can look after you.
