Servicing, Non approved Garages
#1
Is there any reason why a scoob should not be serviced at a non Subaru approved dealers.
I use a local independant garage that I know I can trust and has serviced my other cars weel over 5 years.
The service is 47,000 so I gather a " big one " Apparently also needs the drive belt ? changed at this service.
My only concern is them not picking up something that a main dealers computer tech equipment would do, and this have an effect on the cars overall preformance.
I often hear things on here about ECU resets and alike ( means nothing to me btw ) would a very good garage be aware of these kinda things for all cars.
your comments appreciated

Melpaul, I think firstly you should find out if your local garage has any experience of scoobys.
Do they have the tech data, timing etc (cambelt change).
Then the final thing...are you confident that they can do the job?
Select monitors, yes they can show up faults that your garage might not notice.
There is a "non approved" scooby garage in Basildon Essex who can do these tasks, and have a select monitor, cant remember their name though...Scoobyscene or summit?
Good luck, MD.
