Can you get pops and bangs from a remap??
When you map your car, I've been told that you can add pops and bangs?
Is this true?
I drive a blobeye sti with a kakimoto backbox which is loud, but I'd like a bit of a pop when revved hard. My friend has a Corsa VXR with a full Remus exhaust from 888, and his has a nice pop and bang when revved.
Nothing OTT, but a bit of popping would be nice.
If I remap with ecutek, would this be possible?
Current mods on the car include backbox, and k&n typhoon. May get a center section in the next week or so.
Also who to map?

yes a mapper can map pops and bangs into your map if you want them but i think a full decat might be needed first

I also wanted the pops and bangs , however when my car was being mapped i was told that it could over time damage the turbo and cause problems.
i decided against the idea on this information.

Its quite easy to adjust the map to give pops and bangs, you can do it on the apexi PFC in seconds if you have a hand commander fitted
from mild pops and crackles top full on exhaust explosions where by it feels like you have blown your engine up (well that's how it was when i was "testing" mine out )
most people apparently get them mapped in, and then go back for tweaks to remove them after a while as it uses more fuel.

Thanks for clearing it up.
On another note, and I don't mean to sound stupid, but is the mapper able to alter the exhaust sound then? ie. make it louder/quieter? I'd like to release more burble
