Default Morette + cold air feed question

Interested in getting morettes and putting a cold air feed in place of one of the lights.. My question is, how do i sort out the dipped / main beam. Would the light on the other side (opposite to the cold air feed) not be used. ?

Any help appreciated

You'll either sacrifce a Main Beam or normal headlight. In doing so you'll have Plod all over you like ****.

Why not feed to a front fog light?

Dipped and main beam are in the outer lights. The inner lights are additional main beam lights which you only wire up if you choose to do so. My inner lights were never wired up so i sacrificed the drivers side inner light for the air feed mod.

so your passenger side inner light is just for there for show?

is that ok to have that like that??

i know for MOT's they say if you have a light, it has to work..

i pressume you have to upgrade the main lights to make the beam stronger

Yes the n/s inner light isn't functional, it has the option to be, but was never wired up by the previous owner. The outer lights serve the same function as an OE headlamp with the same connector so is the same power as the OE unit. As for lights having to work if fitted, this isn't so as a car can pass an MOT with the front fog lights out as unlike rear fog lights, this isn't an MOT requirement. They are simply classed as additional lighting therefore are not required to work.

same as above really...

inner lights are just for full beam... the wires coming out of them, just ignore...

as you can see i painted my original side lights and very simply wired them to main lamps... gives me a side light, main beam and full beam....

only issue i came accross was when i have main beam on at night and flash my headlights for other cars they dont see it that clearly...

my N/S inner lamp is for show... if i wired it up then i when i had full beam on i would have one lamp missing O/S and would look stupid..

On my previous Impreza, I did not have Morettes, but I did have PIAA driving lights fitted. When I returned to the Subaru garage that did the MOT on the car, they said that my 'front spots where not working', So I replied, 'they are driving lights', Oh I see
