Default Evo 4 or Type R

Hi everyone, I know someone on here can help me make my mind up. Im stuck in the dilema of which car to get next. Both are real world dream cars of mine and I had a WRX before which was fantastic before it went bang. Which one do you lot think is quicker in the real world. I prefer the look of the Type R personally. I will be doing around 4 or 5 trackdays a year as well so I need to consider the on track ability of both. Does anyone have any performance stats for either car (0-100mph)etc. Thanks everyone

Unless you can find an evo 4 with a later engine, fresh (working) ayc and no rust then I'd go with the Type R.

Evo 4's come with a shed load of problems that are expensive to fix crankwalk is common, ayc had a recall and i doubt its been done on many of them, together both those to fix will set you back the price of a decent car
The evo 5 is a better car to go for, but still i prefer the scoob, the evo doesnt feel like your in control, acutally none of them do, though they are great cars, its llike marmite, love em or hate em

Personally i'd have a type-r as i had an evo (5) and yes it looked the part but it just did'nt feel as good to drive as a scooby.
Go and look at both models, drive a couple and take it from there mate.

Had the same dilema, I opted for the type r! My car spends the bulk of its life in the garage dragged out for around 8 track days a year and the odd B road blast. I havent driven an evo 4 so couldnt compare, I enjoy my type r, its solid, easy to source parts and has a good forum That a side it is fun to drive and so far has been rewarding to own. Just make sure its got the mods on that you want, all tuning comes at a cost££££££

Thanks for all the great advice guys and girls. Decided that the Type R is the car for me so my Golf MK4 is up for sale. Hope to be back in the land of Impreza's soon. Is there any particular type r to avoid?. I was thinking of getting a version 3 or 4
