Default scottish V-power - where??? HELP!!!

it appears that there are no Shell garages up the West side of scottishland?

I'm heading up to the Oban area for a week's touring/holiday with the wife

can anyone point me to 98+RON garages (Shell or Sainsburys etc.) in the Argyll & Bute area?

..or do I need to take a bootful of Octane Booster?????

Sorry I can't help with the garages.

But is it worth carrying octane booster like you suggested? Just I'm going to travel across Europe in the summer, and may not find any correct garages selling 98+ RON, so thought about carrying some booster, but didn't know if it was worth it.

I've never been to Oban with the Subaru, but there are certainly plenty of Shell garages slightly further South, so it would depend on how far you'd be driving up there.

I'm renting in the Lochgilphead area, which is 30 miles south of Oban (roughly)
all the trips I have planned are Oban and north, so its gonna be an issue heading south for petrol

I think the nearest you might get is Esso super which isn't a disaster. I'm deperately trying to remember where the nearest Shell station is but i've a horrible feeling i'm thinking of Fort William rather than Oban!

I checked yell.com for petrol stations in oban and it came up with a tesco's so it would be worth a call to see if they sell 99 ron. If they do then you will be fine with that.

Last time I was in Oban on route to Tobermory, Tesco didn't have 99.

The closest selling "premium fuel" was the Esso heading out of Oban towards Ballachulish.

Not been there since last Autumn but on the West side and North of Glasgow I am not aware of any V-Power stations from Loch Lomond up. On the East side there is V-Power in Inverness and Nairn.
No big problem. Add NF and drive sensibly and you will be OK.

Since I stay in Fort William and visit Oban regularly. You can only get 97 ron in Fort William, thats BP and Esso, Ballachulish has only 95 ron.

At Oban there is 97 ron and on the road between Oban and the Connell bridge there is an Esso with 97 ron. There is 2 petrol stations in the town itself, tesco and shell.

On the high street in Oban there is a shop B&H Autospares that sells octane booster.{opposite subways]
In Glen Coe there is a petrol station with 95 ron and in Dumbarton there is an Esso with 97 ron

The only place for 98 ron is Inverness and Glasgow, theres **** all up here in this $hite-hole.

The petrol stations are robbing ***** up here, and Oban is a lot more expensive for the petrol at 97.7 for 97 ron last week. Today in the Fort 94.4 for 97 ron.

If you need more info, just give a shout. [ie where the speed traps are and so on.]
