Subaru servicing
I placed a post the other day asking for advice on a suitable Subaru garage for a 60k service (inc cambelt) + brake fluid change on my 2004 Legacy. Having got a number of quotes, I've now booked the car into Bulldog Twyford, who are franchised dealers. They've quoted £384 fully inc + £18 for brake fluid. They're offering 10% discount on parts + oils, plus £10 per hr discount on labour on all cars over 3 yrs old. Seems a good deal to me, and in fact, they're cheaper than any of the independent dealers I contacted.

Got to be said, I have used Bulldog for the last two years for servicing and other work and always been impressed with both the service and prices

I've used Bulldog for nearly five years now since I had the bugeye. Nice people and whilst I wouldn't call it cheap, I can usually get a bit off - once I'd agreed the price they then agreed I could have the fully synthetic oil instead of the semi stuff. If you don't ask....... Have been tempted to try Subaru4You who have a fantastic reputation also, but it's not very convenient - might do if and when I start replacing standard bits with mod bits.

I very nearly booked with Subaru4you because of their reputation, but they're not particularly convenient for me, although I could just there while they did the work. With Bulldog I can just leave the car with them and get the train into work. Maybe I'll try Subaru4you in future for a smaller srevice.

Some dealers are doing fixed price servicing at the mo..
Just had mine done at Keith Price Subaru Crickhowel..Fixed Price £400 for the 5 year service inc. Cambelt..
A good deal specially as it's a main dealer, courtesy car provided too!

Obviously a good time to get a service done and it's obvious why Subaru dealers come out so well in the annual JD Power survey. But why do Subaru have such a poor reputation for the servicing costs? We used to run a Passat estate and the local VW dealer quoted £495 for a cambelt change and that was about 3 years ago!

A five year service on a new age at £400 seems a tad expensive to me. Had mine done at subaru4you . co . uk in Newbury for £328 inc vat. Fully Synthetic oil too.
Oops...they are only a ten minute walk from the train station too

I went to Bulldog Twyford and am very happy with the service I received. Unfortunately, the cambelt tensioner had to be replaced, so the cost was a little higher than anticipated. However, the service was very good with excellent communication from Graham & Kelvin in the Service Dept.
Highly recommended.
