getting my impreza MOT'd today.. do they check for sound levels??

first time its been MOT'd since its an 06 STI, i have an afterburner backbox and straight through centre section so was just wondering whether i should fit the silencer?

they can fail it for being louder than standard,but most testers use common sense and if its not stupidly loud will pass it! Thats how i look at it at work when they come in anyway! good luck sure it will fly through!!

My 'mate' failed mine on Thursday for being too loud (well he just said change the backbox before he starts)

Took it elsewhere and it passed with flying colours!

I'd ask the guy before he does it if the exhaust is OK.

never had any issues an i have always had loud cars.

As someone said its at the discression of the tester. I find of them are sound. Always try an have a word with them before it :-)
