WR1 Wheels

The base cars that Subaru UK used to build the WR1s came into the country on anthracite STi 17" wheels with RE070s. These same cars were sold in other UK countries as Petter Solberg specials so presumably had the same wheels as stated above.
As part of the conversion to WR1s they were all fitted as standard with pewter coloured 18" PFF7s. This was a unique colour for the WR1. Rumour has it that you can't even buy wheels in this colour from your scooby dealer without proving you are a WR1 owner. Not sure how true that is though.
This left Subara UK with 500 sets of anthracite STi wheels with RE070's. These were sold off a year or so later for the bargain price of £400 a set for wheels and tyres. This info went round the WR1 owners club site and a fair few WR1 owners, myself included, bought a set of these wheels as track day wheels or just because they were cheaper than buying a replacement set of tyres for the PFF7s.
That's why you often see WR1s on anthracite STi wheels.
