Question

Hi

Does anyone know of, or has anyone tried to
extend the 1 year warranty for their Euro
import? How much did it cost and who offers
it? Does IM offer an extension?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

I've got a 2 year warranty which starts when my car is 1 year old. It's fairly comprehensive and cost about £500. I figured that this was quite a good deal as I'll probably save money if I have *any* warranty claim in years 2 or 3.

Contact Mike Woolley @ J&M Marketing (020 7384 1122), they sell MB&G policies.

Also, some dealers offer a 3rd party (i.e. non IM) warranty for about the same as I paid - give your local dealer a call and find out. Don't bother contacting IM about buying an extension from them, I did and got a rather rude reply!!!! (of the negative type of course!).

Matt.

There are a number of threads on this, but none have had any luck with the extended Euro warranty.

My personnal preference is to bank the 7K I saved, use the dealers for the major service only after the 12 months and do my own minor (oil change for over a £100!!!) servicing.

If anything goes wrong after the 12 months it is just bad luck and since the car wont ever be on the track I do not expect too many problems after the 12 months.

Just also make sure the service interval is 6 months or the 6000 miles which ever comes first for the UK not what is quoted in the English non-UK spec manual as 12 months.
