Default Warranty Question

Just wondered if anyone had put a claim in for corrosion ( rust ) and if so how they got on.
Car only 2 years old so hopefully shouldnt be a problem. Its around the boot seal and on rear quarter,.

Check your warranty booklet. I'm pretty sure bodywork will be covered though. Do you know how the rust started, ie untreated stone chip, damage to car?

Its bubbling through from under paint, areas its in cant be stone chips or scratches etc as coming from under the seals. Booklet quite clear that only covers corrosion / perforation not stone chips and the like so hopefully ok

From what you're describing it does sound like a defect so you should be OK

ASK YOUR NEAREST MAIN DEALER TO TAKE SOME PHOTOGRAPHS AND SUBMIT A WARRANTY CLAIM PRIOR TO DOING THE WORK. SHOULD BE PASSED THROUGH OK.

Not 100% on this but have you had the bodywork inspected by Subaru annually as this may matter.

This is the grey area, nothing in the log book to say it has but the last two services I have pointed out the boot problem so they are aware of it, each time they say they have cleared a drain hole pity there arnt any where the rust is, its in this week for photos so see what happens from there, thanks,
