Hi all....

A few days ago I had a stone come up and crack the windscreen of my 2002 Sti Prodrive...

Can anyone out there with the same car with a genuine Subaru windscreen let me know if you have a cut out on the bottom of the screen showing the vin number of the car and above the interior mirror - is there a shaded area?

My current screen doesn't have either - non genuine screen but I would like to konw if a genuine screen has these..

I had a replacement genuine screen fitted to my MY03 STi last year and it has both the cutout and the shaded area behind the mirror.

My original screen never had the shaded area, but I believe it was added to the MY04 cars and is now on new screens made for the older models too.

Andy as you know, my dad had to have a new screen as the autoglass girl made the stone chip repair worse and cracked the glass. So a new screen was ordered and it is the proper Subaru glass, but there is no cutout for the vin number nor is there a shaded area behind the rear view mirror.

Andy, you know mine had a new screen and has the VIN cutout and shaded bit at the top, plus is a genuine Subaru one as it says it near the tax disc.

Just ask for dealer supplied glass, supposedly they cannot refuse
