Question

I've got a chance of a Grp A stainless steel mongoose exhaust for a bargain! Only problem is, is a Grp A too loud for road use? The seller claims it is and also said it's a straight through with no baffles. Any help will be most welcome. Cheers.
P.S. It's a full system complete with backbox.

Gordon ALL exhausts for rallying must be under 100db@4500rpm. It doesn't matter if it is classed as group A or N. It should have been designed by Mongoose to be under this limit. If you've got an induction kit on though, it will probably be louder. BTW 100db is bloody loud!

I used to run a Mk 2 Golf at 103db, not too loud but drones away on M way..... if you're doing a and b roads its fantastic!! Straight through 3" pipe from manifold no silencer just twin peco DTM rear box. Twin webber 48's and a high lift cam meant it shot flames on up changes and had flames licking the bumper on over run. Not bad for a 1600cc Driver!!

So I take it that I can get away with just the exhaust but will need ear plugs for every day use if I put an Induction kit on it as well?
