Start from the top, I know the shape of it, but isn't to hard, make sure its socking wet first, and wrap once round and over lap about 50%, stick a tie on it and just keep going. Remember to do it nice a tight. And because its wet it'll just get tighter. Good luck anymore help just shout.

as above. One of the most overlooked easy mods. Makes a real difference, but it does smell to start with

It can be i think they do a silvery coated one, so the heat is bounced off (theory anyway). Also can use it for the rest of the exhaust. All helps the flow of gases.
I did all my exhaust, the only problem was it used to rub on some road humps, and not long rubbed through the wrap, then started to hang off. Ha, oh well.

Indeed, wrap it.
I have heard that it can boil the brake fluid, and raise engine temps, also a turbo jacket is a good idea also. Keep those temps down.

Sorry just read again. As i have said above. Also helps the gases flow faster, so will help expelling through the exhaust.
I don't have any evidence on this, but hopefully someone will come along and tell us
