I was there but it wasnt me she overtook.

The red E36 M3 she was keeping up with later lost it on the last corner trying to keep up with me.
He was behind me for a lap trying his best, then on last corner I looked in my wing mirror to see his **** end come out and smash into the armco.

The Black Mclaren SLR 722 at the start of the clip sounded like nothing I have ever heard before

It was Oulten Park. I am returning again later on this month to finish setting the car up for Hillclimbing/Sprinting

The cars she overtook were cruising. The speed differential was too great.

An amateur track day is absolutely no benchmark to test a car by, you don't know who is really going for it, and if they can actually drive if they are, you don't know who is on their first time and a bit timid, you don't know who's just cruising, a completely worthless 'review'

Corretct.

I overtook the £400k 722Bhp Mclaren at a ridiculous rate of knots. That does not mean my £2k STi V3 is a better car. (It is though )

Not the same car but same idea, at Donny, big flash cars but are just tools behind the wheel,

FWIW the driver(we don`t know the sex of the driver) could just have bought the scooby and was trying to find its limits in a safe controlled manner, as we all recommend on here, or it was a cool down lap as it had left her for dead on the last lap,
And VBH can drive so no shame on being past(even if it was a bmw).

Aye, otherwise known as fodder. Fun at first, then you quickly get bored and end up hanging back waiting for someone who can actually drive and is on a fast lap to have a play with.

heh the only reason she mentioned that she was 'passing' the impreza is because most ppl in the media seem to think the impreza has this massive speed kudos around it and therefore in 5th gears case, they think it's cool to mention it, even when it's obvious it was just cruising. Pathetic really.

It's the same on the cop shows whenever a scoob is being chased or has been used in a robbery. It's either EXTREMELY fast or EXTREMELY dangerous or EXTREMELY notorious for ram raiding, take your pick

It's nothing to do with your post, just the poor quality of fifth gear.

No, diseasel is the correct way to spell diesel. Ask any Thomas the Tank engine fan

Haha I love those shows! It's soo funny, they're like "He's doing 110mph!! At this speed he's not only a danger to himself but he's a danger to everyone around him" I'm sat there thinking, I'd have left all of them behind at that speed (and safely ). I actually watch them just to see how hilariously slow the people that run are!

Who'd use an Impreza for ram raiding... seriously.... the paint would chip and you'd end up being outside all weekend trying to get the swirl marks out again..

Ahh well, I flinch when I see Impreza's with dodgy paint jobs and bodykits though....

I just guess these people just aren't enthusiasts....
