2002 V7 STi Tiptronic - did they make any?
Someone in Scotland is advertising a 2002 model with Tiptronic (auto) he claims is an STi. It has the badges (of course) but the dash shows WRX gauges with 7000 rpm limit and no adjustable warning light/buzzer. I am trying to get more info but the owner works offshore and his wife insists it is and STi (she is not technical).
Anyone heard if Subaru made such a beast, maybe a short production 'special'?

Please note ...... Some 2001 Development STi's were produced from Stock WRX's so they may have a WRX code two of these oddities (STi wagons) have been sold in the UK.
But as a rule
A STi model code starts with GDB
A WRX starts with GDA
The 3rd highligted letter indicates A=WRX B=STi. last letter indicates gearbox H= 6sp D= 5sp P-Auto note 2...... Tiptronic might be not a P
so will be some thing like
GDBB4EH 2001 STi 6speed
GDBC4EH 2002 STi 6speed
GDBB4EP 2001 STi Auto
GDBC4EP 2002 STi Auto
GDAB4ED 2001 WRX 5speed
GDAC4ED 2002 WRX 5speed
GDAB4EP 2001 WRX Auto
GDAC4EP 2002 WRX Auto
Happy hunting

Amazing Tony! I have seen this car advertised too and the first thing I noticed like the other chap who saw it was the 7000 rev limit! I've just looked again and it has not got an intercooler water spray button, and the interior is a WRX interior, not an STI one.

STi got some 2001 WRX's saloons and were used to develop the 2002 STi.
I have seen one or two STi tiptronic advertised in japan but as said majority are WRX's
IMHO IIRC
