HONG KONG TRIP
#1
Bought bloody loads of stuff for the scooby and as i've got the old shape i asked if there were any old shaped scoobies for parts like wings at the time. They told me that all of the old scoobies in HK have been written off!! I went to the scrap yards and found Type R's Subaru's Evo's etc. Flipping hell!! All the scrap yards were full of them, plus all the scrap yards were like next to each other! there were bloody loads of them!

Where was the scrap yard you went to?
Somewhere in The New territories I suspect? Sha Tin?
What are you doing about shipping parts back?
When I've been over there I've seen some mad cars around Mong Kok.
Probably Triads!

Mong Kok is where the majority of car parts are sold. But as for scrap yards you need to move out to areas like Fo Tan.
There are still loads of old shape scoobies around. Well there were when i went back in Sept 01. There tends to be loads at scrap yards due to street racers who always want the best!!! The chinese have more money than sense, including myself!!! Scrap yards are also usually piled up with damaged vehicles due to the amount of accidents that take place. They are cr*p drivers out there!!!
You can easily pick up bargain parts. My friend brought back an original STI5 spoiler for the equivalent of £50. Had slight scratches but the local bodyshop soon sorted it out.

Most scrap yards in HK are located in Kam Tin, far into the New Territories.
There are many GC Imprezas there, but it's very hard to find one that isn't modded at all. There are one or two straight ones out there which are usually owned by expats.

I was going to say they are near Kam Tin (my home village), on the main road out towards the airport (I think). Not too far away if you have access to a car.
Might have to have a visit soon!!

The scrap yards in HK like to import whole front-end or rear-ends of cars from Japan. The front-end (called 'cut-head') consists of everything from the bumper to the a-pillar. Ppl usually want the body parts or the engine from those bits.
