Question

Morning all....

I was trying to find a suitable place in the car to fit my Origin Blue-i...what a nightmare of a job!!

Anyone got any pics of where they have managed to fit it...or suitable ideas???

Has it been installed with its bracket or without???

Anything would be appreciated

Cheers

Tom

Admittedly mine is in my Clio and not a Scoob, but i put it on the dashboard to the right of the instrument panel, above the vent.

I stuck it on with the materials and the bracket given.

Tom,

Will fit for beers as you should know! Or after the Great Light Fitting, do you not trust me

Nick.
PS - "should take half an hour or so"

Chiark - *LMAO*....yea...30 mins...no problem...easy job M8 ....its actually due to be fitted on Monday along with the carkit...tho last night I was sitting in the car trying to work out where the hell to put it...its quite a bulky bit of kit really....was thinking about top right hand corner of the windscreen...or right hand side of the dash??...tho still not really sure...or maybe even just above the rear view mirror....time will tell!!

Beers is a good idea all the same ...tho not tonight alas...however Friday eve circa 20.30/21.00 at Suburban Style sounds like a top idea to me!!! Speak later

Would it fit in the space left by removing the ashtray?

Beer. MMMmmmm.

So, what are you doing tonight then?

Tom,

Here is what I did to fit mine:

I stuck a piece of the velcro to the base of the long antenna thing and that attaches nicely to the back shelf. I then routed the cable behind the rear seats, down the side next to the rear door and then under my mats, under the front passenger seat and mat and up to close to the right underside of the glovebox. The trim between the transmission tunnel and the pillar holding the radio and ashtray allows the cable to be hidden along the joint/groove allowing the antenna cable to reappear in the odments recess below the ashtray, infront to the gear stick.
I screwed the Origin unit to the stand, discarded the slide-on base thing as it was too large and sat the unit in the recess between the ashtray and the gear stick. I found that the top, rear edge of the unit now touched to front face of the ashtray drawer when the drawer was closed (I don't smoke so no worries for me here). I fixed a piece of velcro to the back edge of the unit (folded over the edge) and another piece to the front face of the ashtray drawer. This is enough to keep the unit from sliding around when cornering at a fair pace. It is does not feel the most secure of contacts between the vecros but it seems to work for me. It also means I can remove the unit very quickly and easily when I leave the car........Sorry but no pics!!!

Think of buying one, but no idea where to put it in my01. What's the performance and the accuracy of detection like?. Any comments on the unit itself?

I never got to test drive one before I got mine, and was worrying.
But WOW what a car, you'll love it.
Trouble is it doesn't like doing 70mph. Just wants to go faster.
It appears effortless.
