How to tell Suretrac is fitted?

Harry Potter hasn't been paying attention in his automotive technology classes.
Helical gear based LSD units will behave just like normal open diffs if the car is jacked up.
Easiest way to check is to ... (edited out)

Launch it into a wet roundabout, getting masses of understeer... and then apply some throttle
If you do it right and onlookers will want your babies.
Do it wrong and you will be walking home

Does the walking home bit relate to the onlookers wanting your babies and you getting it wrong?
Have a look at Steve Breen's site That tells you what you get on which models.

Moray, can you stop being snotty and become a team player again like you were before ?
The references to 22B in your posts - refusing to give an answser, and claiming of course that on here you only meet morons - is getting up my nose.
It's not big & it's not funny, and it saddens me to be honest.
It's also one of the reasons why I stopped posting on 22B (yeah, like that's a loss LOL )
As we all know, you have a similar diff fitted to your car, so it's really childish to "edit out the answer".
Thanks.
Now as for the answer: I'm afraid Pete is entirely correct ... you can not feel a thing just turning the wheel, as it will react like an open diff if there is no torque difference OR if one of the wheels can spin freely.
So you have to a) open up the gearbox or b) drive it at the onset of understeer, and then give more throttle. If it is an open diff, you will have been out of luck , if not, you will feel the front tuck in.

Thanks Theo. From what I can gather is that if I buy an import it should be the GL model and then should have HID and front LSD.As for Moray maybe driving around in his girlfriends battered old Ford Escort has got to him
