Default Trackday Camera setups

What camera setups are you folks using?

Maybe a few pics of your equipment and a link to a vid to show quality would be good.

Also any good suppliers that can help with the kit.

TIA

Yeah interesting.

Any adapters to plug a normal hand held cam in? Ive seen them for head rests for non bucket seated cars. Anything for normal cars? Got a High Def cam corder, would be cool to get it recording in car too.

The joys of working in IT and having nothing to do for 8 months.

I bought some of the 15 quid ones and sold them on ebay for 30 odd quid each

I bought my kit from Action Cameras. The beauty of this is that you can mount the camera on the outside of the car. The quality is good, even on a 42" plasma. I will post a vid up shortly but the youtube compression reduces the quality.

I bought a kit which included a camcorder and this camera 480 TV Line Bullet Camera - Action Cameras

Unfortunatley, it looks like that particular package has been discontined. Even though buying a camcorder is more expensive, I would recommend it as you have something you can use on holidays or at a family event. The camcorder I got was a Sony DCR-HC96. If you do go the camcorder route make sure you buy one with a video input!!

Went for something I could use my Digital camera or camcorder with.

Got a Hague mount, Camera Suction pads and Vacuum mounts which will hold upto 1.5kgs, so I can have my camcorder and camera mounted at the same time.

Quick video made with it - YouTube - Macclesfield to Leek

Tried a number of cameras, most with hard drives (which arent suitable in a car, especially the JVC Everios. Settled on a Sony mini-dv camera. Buy SONY DCR-HC51 | Mini dv camcorder - Cameras & Camcorders | Comet cheap enough if it gets smashed up then you dont care.

Here's a vid of the action cam mounted on the roof. The quality is crap because of youtube's compression, I still need to play around with the settings.

I have the GoPro Hero. The picture quality is pretty good but the sound is poor and it kills batteries like my Girlfriends rabbit...
