Don't see what the fuss is about, i've seen far worse and that bugeye really isn't any different from alot on here.

I have a V8 scoop on my bugeye, but then I don't have a fmic.

Edit: Thats the Scoob i'm talking about, not the others.

In the states, those cars are considered Riced out ! Like Fast in the Furious, there a example of what not to do, to your car . Thus the expression "Rice" .

Examples of Rice

-Loud Paint Jobs
-Large Wings with no Justification
-Incorrect Badging such as GTR on a Subaru or Turbo on a non-turbo car .
-19inch rims or Chrome Rims
-Combat body kits or a Body kit that does not fit the car or not molded in properly or unpainted .
-Large and annoying stereo systems that weigh hundreds of pounds
-Neon underglow Lights
-Any Honda with a fart can
-Thinking your car is fast, when you run 16 seconds on the drag all day every day
-Multiple stickers proclaiming what products you have on your car a few are exceptable but not 50 . This also covers stickers on your car of products that your car does not posses .
-Any sort of graphics or vinyl on your car other than OEM .

There are more than that, these people are refered to as Ricers in the States are genarly annoying as hell and try to race you all the time in thier supped up Honda Accord with Tupac blasting on thier 4k dollar stereo system with thier chrome spinners .

Oh, I almost forgot anybody who has V-TEC on thier car is automatically a ricer !!

Lol pretty much what most of the cars are like at the cruises around here, you do get the odd original idea that is well executed but it then gets copied ten fold a month later.

cool I've got a 600bhp Ricer!!!

Loud paint job
Vinyl that's not OEM,
branded stickers (although I do have products from each)
Loud stereo system that weighs a fair bit (although it takes a few minutes to remove pre trackdays)

Do I give a toss if its a ricer or not? Nope not one bit!!

Well than your a ricer Here in the States ricers hang out with ricers, if you have a riced out Subaru than you mostly likely would be shunned by the Subaru community which is quite large here in the states .

Dont mean to sound arogant but when you start letting rice in your community it tends to go down hill very quikly . The police will pull you over and basically crack down on all meets . But if you have a clean *** powerfull subaru that is loud as hell the cops are more likely to just BS with you and leave you alone .

Looked at your profile, yep your car is a rice mobil .

PS I forgot if you have Lambo doors, you are the ultimate ricer and should be flogged

I dont have anything against riced up cars that actually have as much go as they do show....a riced up gtr34 running 500bhp is a-okay with me however a 1.6 civic that looks like a space ship and drives like a turd is a big . Even though i personally wouldn't go the ricer route especially here in the uk (bright loud paint jobs and ridiculously low body kits just don't gel with our **** roads and crap weather) it works in the states quite well on those cars where the styling and craftsman ship is in line with the original shape of the car. The bottom line is that we should dare to be different and individual.

p.s.

How can you not like the look of this civic?

Well, the days of the Ricer are fading here in the States, there is so much backlash here . The American approach to building cars is very much diffrent than it was 10 years ago and Super Street Magazine and some other mags are stuck in the past . It really has turned into clean lines, very basic classic paint and metallic one tone paint jobs and lots of JDM parts . To tell you the truth the US domestic aftermarket is Huge and these companies offer very fair priced parts that have JDM style clues with JDM quality at a fraction of the JDM price . If you guys are intrested go to NASIOC.COM and check out the members picture gallery to see what they are doing on the other side of the Atlantic .

Hey I love what the NASIOC boys are doing to their cars, I have always loved the spoilerless look (or changing the sti wing for a rex oem) and as a result the clean lines this mod leaves. I also notice a lot are favouring the wrx skirts to the sti jobs (peanut/blobeye model) It seems in the states you guys are much more darring with your styling choices and to your credit. Some of the cars on the members gallery truly are inspirational, removing the trade mark bonnet scoop and sti spoiler is a brave move not many here would take...but god does it work when done to this standard

The Gobstopper isnt a ricer mobile, its a well executed and thought out track weapon, plus its white, not lairy but the colour of champions.

Best car in those mag snippets is the VW Caddy, ghetto pimpin'

Im moving to the UK this summer on a military assighnment, Im bringing my car with me . I have a 2006 STi, I run a limited spoiler AKA M3 spoiler, completly badgless, and have scoop delete . Very clean lines, though Im thinking of throwing the scoop back on . When I say badgeless, I mean the only way you know its a STi is when you look at the Gauge cluster and It says STi or you know what you are looking for . Plus the hella flush look is a very big thing here .

hey that sounds good mate...i'm looking at going for a the small lip spoiler I have seen on a number of NASIOC cars, is it called the A line spoiler and is it easy get hold of? also going for the total de-badged looked apart from leaving the back pink sti badge on (possibly ). What is he hella flush look?

Any pics of your car mate?

You do understand how sponsors help pay to build such cars, dont you ? It would be a slap in the face not to advertise for them, and its just how the industry works no matter where you live in this world .

The front page Imprezza, Im not fimiliar with that car . Link please
