where are the 2 dent? its hitting where the dents are before the second catch on the lock!
take the grill off and bring the lock up, its only catching on first lock and not the second one by the sounds of it?!
hope this helps you out

the latch spring can get full of creud and crap. have someone in the car work the release lever and you squirt a load of wd40 over the whole mechanism. don't be shy with the wd40

A 'slap' is an expression and can mean anything from one actual 'slap' to a thorouh slappin' involving many actual 'slaps' dished out using hands, feet and blunt objects such as a maglite.

I hope that clears up any slap confusion

Usually a thoroughly good clean and lube with WD40 will do the trick, also the cable will benefit from some WD too.

Glad you got it sorted, shame about the bonnet.

If you did 'slap' your neighbour then you might want to think about removing your post which admits to assulting them - people have be done for crimes having posted an admission on the internet.

I would have done the same - given the circumstances
