Hello. my brother has a 1996 wrx sti type RA v-limited 555 colin mcrae scooby and the warning light on the dash has come on. he describes as a red box with a few lines coming out of it like 'heat'. the car is loud and has a loss of power. the engine was fully rebuilt 6 months ago.

any ideas please what it means?
