Wink

Unless you have 300bhp that new astra vxr will be right up your bumper. Power to weight and all that.

I used to have a C20LET'd Astra GSI. Was stupidly quick.... when i could get traction, which wasn't often.

My mate has an Astra GTE with a C20LET engine, running approx 330bhp, stripped out with cage, coilovers, V6 brakes, and a LSD.
On a sprint circuit he got exactly the same time as me in the WRX.... but at the time i only had 240bhp, 2 pot brakes, and a set of springs fitted.

(Basically great in a straight line, awful on corners)

Best mate has an astra c20let running 415ish bhp.. with more torque! Spent silly money on it - coilovers - tarox 10 pots. When he can get traction, he wets all over me (im 280ish). Round the twisty bits, im all over him but onstraights..hes gone

mate of mine had a pug 106 turbo charged running 190bhp
rapid from about 40-90, would beat me in my uk turbo doing that
was embarrassing as i didnt know he was getting the conversion done and was following him one day and was surprised when he put his foot dwon and disappeared at hast, thought GTI;s werent that rapid at all, only when i saw him pull up on my driveway the following day and he let his dumpvalve rip that i realised he was no longer normally aspirated but running forced induction.!

dont have no probs with new vxrs my mate has a regal stage 3.5 one and i can still leave it doesnt realy weigh any less tho its heavier according to his chassis plate thing.
