Sounds like he was giving you a warning, better that than a summons I think, OK better not to have it at all, but you weren't delayed or anything!

"How would you like a smack in the face?" would have been a good reply

I personally would give the copper the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps he saw you driving with "exhuberance" but had more important things to do, so gave you verbal advice instead of a ticket. . . .

Possiblity????

I agree.

You have no idea if had been watching you for a few minutes before hand.

Everything is unclear, you might have been lucky and he actually 'did you a favour', or he could have been been winding you up. - which I think he would have gotten over in his first three months.

t the end of the day, I d rather have a copper on the street stopping joyriders and granny bashers, than worry about such a small thing.

Would I be right in saying that if you replied "how would you to be given a smack in the face" he couldn't actually do anything about it.

Also along the lines of "i've heard your the paedo copper" etc etc

Not that i've had any reason to use it, but mates have that in my opinion have been treated unfairly and if I get a copper that winds me up I want to treat them just the same.

Not advisable, bud.

Trust me, the police WILL lie, they WILL and DO lie in court and if it's their word against yours, guess who the magistrates, who are also a shower of sh*te are going to believe?

He and his mate could fabricate anything about you and they probably would, so just keep shtum.

If it bothers you, go to his copshop and ask to see an inspector, get YOUR story in first without giving them a reason to fabricate something. Then, when it's not in both their notebooks..............

A word to the wise.

The worrying thing about policing now is the "guilty until proved innocent" that Labour have brought in to motoring offences, bit by bit, starting with speeding.

You could well be looking at a summons through the post, and if both those guys SAY you did it, then you did. End of, that's all she wrote

I think you have the Police and courts mixed up.

Hard working people are convicted harshly of minor offences, and the real criminal scum - who have actually done something bad, get to go home.

I don't think you will hear/receive anything.

If you actually talk to a copper (a good one - who wants to put muderers. thieves and rapists away), its an eye opener as to the abuse they get - when they arrest said (mostly repeat) offenders.

I have actually spent a night in the cells, when I was younger.

In order to get a summons for a section 30 you have to be given a now caution at the time, and told that you are being reported for the consideration of prosecution for the offense off......

Consider it a warning, Dont listen to people who say they will be rude back to the police.

You will not get a summons, nothing will happen. But, and I am not saying you did anything wrong i wasnt there and I will take your word for it but, Consider how you were driving in town, there could have been a complaint about your driving from a member of the public.

the traffic officer could well be keeping his superiors happy by saying he has dealt with you after the call has come out.

He did you a favour, two cops say you've done wrong, and you are guilty end off.

Im just gonna offer something opposite to the argument here.

Ive been stopped a couple of times in bracknell and guildford and the coppas have been very nice and understanding. Perhaps i just got lucky.

I still follow the general ruels never trust a copper or a prist tho.

I've got a section 30 already.. but I need sections 20 and 22 I just can't however much I try get them.. really annoying, I am sure they hold back these to stop me getting a full set

I generally find like with any profession there are some really nice ones and some really not nice ones.. if you get stopped and believe that they are all as in the title of this thread you will get treated with the same back plus some..

personally I treat them like anyone I speak to and if I am in the wrong or have just done something I shouldn't then yes sir, no sir I won't do it again sir does seem to help..
