Did check the first 3 pages of posts in the general forum - I was expecting some sort of sticky TBH but doesn't look like the admins have picked up on it.
Have there honestly been lots of other threads on this? Haven't seen em - sorry if you're only part joking.

To answer your question yes there have a been a few but so there should. We have paid to use the search and for the third time since I paid we can't.
A few threads in the black hole know as the admin section on it.
