WRX STI Spec C type RA-R is probably the fastest production car out of the factory with 320ps.

Pretty close though that extra 40ps probably gives the S204 the 3rd place with the spec c type RA very close with 2nd I would say.

Just a thought, surely some of the Classics like the Early RA`s etc would be quicker to 60 though with that mental gearing??

An STI 3 Type RA would plop on a 22B methinks. 22B is a lot heavier, with the sameish power.

Neither makes 350bhp, they are factory quoted at 320ps anything above that is "additional"

As for the WR Ltd, 280ps out of the box not 320ps, only a few had 320ps, those being the S202, S203, S204 and RA-R.

Staffi, believe it or not, the older classic (sti) RA's are not as quick as the newer Spec C's which are more aerodynamic and with more powerful engines, and even though they weigh more, the gearing and torque more than makes up for it

Beg to differ Tony as every Spec C was 320ps,not a single one has ever made 276ps standard they have all been 300+ i think you been misquoted. The STi may have been quoted as 276ps but not the Spec C

edited for accuracy. They may have been quoted 276ps to get through that Jap ruling rubbish but they were all well above that

Scooby-tc,

I was also under the impression Spec C`s where 300bhp or even a tad more, well that,s what Iain Litchfield told me anyway....

Mine certainly feels more than 280bhp strong, but i guess power delivery etc may make it feel sharper if you get me....

Actually how many were tested with low miles on? not that many though mine was, made 288bhp at 1700 miles on the clock, pretty close to that factory figure though when run in a fair bit more, made a fair bit more, 316bhp on the jap map, not a uk remap for fuel

Oh and the japanese manual stated 280ps too for spec c's

and what has highest top speed!

The Type R and RA (1997>) was quicker than a P1 so thats knocked that out of the equation

That was my point Tony,if the same stock car makes 316 on jap map after 'it's loosened up' then it could never have been 280ps to begin with.
As you say yours made 288 with low miles, thats equates to over 290ps to start with hence the only way to get these cars through that weird jap rulng was to 'quote' 280ps which is isnt

The spec c type ra-r is the quickest there, but the spec c is also very quick here, but dont buy one just because its fast, there are alot of compromises when you buy a spec c, ride quality, smaller fuel tank, more tiring etc.
