2004 fiesta 1.2LX clutch question

Default 2004 fiesta 1.2LX clutch question

are they hydraulic or cable, the wifes clutch has just gone (peddle straight to the floor) nothing happening.

I take it you mean 1.25 litre?

Its hydraulic. IIRC slave is inside the bellhousing (3 hours to swap it out) - hope its not the slave!

thanks for that bud, a friend has just had a look and its the plastic rod that connects the clutch pedal to the master cylinder that has snapped, dont know how long that takes to change though.

That books at about 0.9 hours chargeable time assuming m/c has to come off.

ok, is there a quick fix do you know..can the plastic rod be replaced or is it a full m/c that will be needed

Before you do anything else check that the rod has not simply come unclipped from the pedal unit. Get a replacement clip from the Ford dealer (32p, they will keep them in stock) and maybe add a ty-wrap to keep it in place. This is a common fault.

If the rod has actually snapped then you will need to remove m/c and replace I think.

thanks mate,yeah the rod has snapped, ive got half of it in the house so i think itll be a new m/c job.
