Sorry mate, but why???
1. It's only going to get sooted up again.
2. It looks better anyway (IMHO) with the shiny exterior contrasting with the matt black interior.
One of us needs help! (probably me )

I have never cleaned the inside of a tail pipe though I did polish the chrome on the outside of the STi one I stuck on last ngiht... cheers Fullham
I won't be cleaning the inside of it at a later date either..
maybe a new line in pipe cleaners could be introduced?

I had trouble getting the two bolts undone that hold the pipes together as the upper one is so close to the heat shield that the rachet kept catching and the like. Both came undone without breaking though which was impressive.
The angle of the zorst was slightly different but once on the mounts and the two bolts done up it was inline and fine... only about half a degree difference.
I expected it to be just slightly louder and look better..
In actualy fact it lets the Turbo spin up quicker and the lag has been reduced and the power is not neccessarily up but it is consistently better... made the car more drivable with the less lag time as this was a huge problem with the car having a TD05 Turbo which is bigger than the newer cars.. power was lame below 3000rpm... then everything.. Which was great except when you want to drive like you have miss daisy on board or anywhere near normally. The exhaust note is also slighty deeper and louder..
so all in I am really chuffed...
Got me thinknig that perhaps a complete Scoobysport system might be better than the other mods I was thinking about...
Shame I don't have a spare grand sitting about the place..
Cheers

Do you pay as much attention to all of your Five inch holes Mr A ?
I used to clean the inside of mine (Jap Innovation) and all was good until i found that within 30 miles it was sooted up again. Now just do the "Box" end plate, the bit that everyone can see from behind the car. I dont even do the "pipe" bit anymore as i found that the slightest trace of cleaner tarnishes the finish when it gets hot. Took too long to get it all off and too much abuse from the neighbours while i was down there
I have been known to wash my car in the rain
Mikey (Or not depending on what you catch him doing )

...only yours Mikey, only yours...
I have discovered that a wee bit of 3in1 oil in the pipe makes the soot come off a whole lot easier....altho IIRC its flammable

I have a rattle coming from around the back of my car and I'm pretty sure its coming from my Prodrive back box, I had my MY01 decatted and ScoobySported, do you think the extra volume coming from the rest of the exhaust has killed the backbox ? is it man enough or do I get the ScoobySport back box to match the rest of it all ?

Do you mean volume as in sound or as in quantity of gas.
Either way, I would doubt that either would be enough to damage your Prodrive backbox.
Could be:
- the bolts connecting your backbox to you mid pipe are loose.
- the backbox was damaged (dropped) before fitting and the vibration from the car has finally cause some interior part to work loose.
- the box is hitting your back axle (would sound like a light thump rather than a rattle) whenever you hit a speed bump or pot hole.
- something else
Be interested to know what it is if you find out...

Well I'm going to ScoobySport on Wednesday and I'll ask them to take a look, by volume I mean louder, MUCH LOUDER
Sounds like its the meshy thingy just inside the tail pipe, I spose my dealer will tell me to poke it because although its only 2 weeks old I have removed the cats, but I'll stick another post up when I find out.
Thanks Rich for the suggestions.
