Default Tyres, Car, or both?? Lol..

Yes folks, i,m talking road noise. i know the Spec C has no boot carpet, light weight etc, but went for a blast this morning and for the first time really noticed the road noise, could this also be the RE070s too?? they seem to create road noise.

Who,s changed from these and was there any reduction in road noise??

Mine are on their last legs now so i,m thinking of a set of F1 ASYMMETRICS

Pete..

Yes, tyres can change the road noise characteristics...... but, it's a Spec C! Your biggest issue will be the lack of sound proofing. Litchfield's do sell a sound deadening package for the boot, if required though.

Try sticking something like a 888 on a Spec C, and then you will realise what tyre noise is!

Shaun,

NO-WAY is there carpet going in fella, i bought the car for it,s raw appeal, my question was more tyre related really, i thought they,d contribute to alot of road noise these 070s..AND it was abit slippy today too, nearly caught me out a few times, good job we,ve got those Cossie skills a Shaun...

Pete,
You don't have to fit a shagpile carpet! The Litchfield kit is like dynamat and is pre-cut for the inner wings and boot floorplan. He also does a boot tray to cover the spare wheel (it is made of ABS plastic).

Nearly caught you out?? Keep your foot in boyo!

The Spec C has never really caught me out, even with my power. Now that is either down to the great chassis and handling set-up, or is down to me only using 1bhp most of the time.

AFAIK the RE070's are not great in greasy conditions. However, "Roadhogs" are known to be brilliant and only cost 4p each.
