No, they're not for export (apart from 2 or 3 markets).
It's very rare to find Japanese promotion fotos of their cars wearing Japanese plates. A few years back Subaru used British plates on some of their foto shoots for Jap market brochures.

lurvely....
only subaru 4 pots though, with all that extra weight?
You'd have more braking power with an anchor and drum brakes made of Dairy Milk.
Seems a shame they didn't use the STi Brembo setup.

The auto Evo VII is called the GT-A, it has the same gearbox as the Galant VR-4 auto.
The main difference between the manual & auto versions are the auto has 272ps engine, no bonnet vents and rear spoiler is optional. The GT-A can also be specified with leather interior.

the b4 with 2 pots up front has better braking than imprezas with 4 pots - down to suspension I reckon as the rears (larger vented ones as per sti 5 and 6) are used to much greater effect - imprezas seem to only use the front brakes. 4 pots on a legacy are more than adequate - strange but true - I was worried about this when I got my B4 (having upgraded the braking on all 3 of the imprezas I owned before it) but the 2 pots have proved perfectly adequate - would be different matter for track use of course but then any road discs/pads will need upgrading for sustained heavy use.
Having said that, it is about time that the 4 pots were fitted as standard on the GT/B4/blitzens.

And to add to the brake thing - most of us track our cars (in our little group), and while more schtop would be nice, we rarely have any issues because we have mesh hoses, decent fluid and very good pads.
And no, not one of us has ever warped a disc (yet ). Maybe we aren't trying hard enough, but I regularly return to the pits with my pads smokin' And FWIW a few of us pass some lighter/supposedly faster cars on the track too - tho not often
On the road there are fewer problems with braking as most other cars can't stop much faster anyway.
BTW the C & D revisions of the Legacy got a new pedal and booster assembly that has improved things a lot!!
Cheers

Shimster - missed your query...sorry 'bout that m8
That tower bar is available with pink bits (ooh err missus ) on the ends as an STi bit (coupla other detail differences too, like the STi logo is stamped on the cross bar).
Cusco also makes one, and they have another that is wrapped in CF to keep it more rigid in the heat of the engine bay (that's the PR blurb anyway ).
Basically there are plenty of them on the market, but Cusco seems to make most of them
Cheers
