Default Surprise trip to Nurburgring for husband.

Please can someone give me some advice for this, (I have had to re-register under a different username so my husband doesn't rumble me but I am a full member and regular poster not wasting anyones time.

I have managed to sort ferry, find a nice hotel but help please because I cannot for the life of me find when the nurburgring is open for public racing, I have been on the official site and eventually worked out how to get it into English but still can't find any information......the trip will be mid-december and I want to make it as special as I can for him, I want him to have the best surprise ever so any advice will be very much appreciated.

I was under the impression it was open to public almost everyday but apparantly this isn't the case? It would be terrible to book everything only for him to not be able to have fun on the track.

Thank-you!

Hi there,

I know this particular sites event is November not December

Circuit Days - Home of Circuit Days, Nurburgring 700, Euro Enduro and the Arctic Adventure

but they are offering open pitlane, which to me is one of the crucial things to making a trip to the ring extra special. I would never go again on one of the 'public' days where you have to 'pit' every lap to go through the turnstyles.

On a day like the circuit-days one there will also be no bikes to worry about, another major factor on the 'ring.

They are also likely to have an instructor on hand which will also go along way to making his day more enjoyable.

Hope that is some sort of help.

There is a UK flag in the top right hand corner of the page that will translate it all:

Nürburgring - home

Theres a new page on Ben Lovejoys site, about TUV testing! He is under the impression that cars that 'fail' a cursory check wont be allowed access, but thats not my experience. Where they have 'cause for concern' the car is taken away for a massive TUV inspection and then, usually, condemned!

Be prepared to do other things than go round the track in December! There's plenty to do in the area though, if anywhere is open!
Wish the missus would do something like this for me Way to go lady

Damn, the weather comments have me really worried, there would be no point in him going if he isn't able to do something he's dreamt of doing for years,

I appreciate all your comments and help and maybe I need to rethink dates, it's just difficult to arrange things around work for him.

Dynamix I did use the UK flag but didn't know that "Touristenfahrten" was what I was looking for

Thanks again to all of you who replied, Ben lovejoys site is quite usefull too!

If you need help with any German info you don't understand, I'll be happy to help.

I used to live in southern Germany so I can vouch for the poor weather too!
