When the Hawkeye first came out I was with the majority of posters on Scoobynet and really didn't like it with it's silly roof spoiler and even dafter rear (max power) lights, and yet 3 weeks ago i bought one over my blobeye and really do think that it's the best looking scoob ever after the 22B. So how did that happen then? Have I just accepted the look or do Subaru always work a couple of years ahead in the styling stakes??

Regrettably, it's just you
I remember the horror of first seeing a bug eye... Now I think a white RA looks fantastically slaggish. So yeah, maybe we're like Garth... "I fear Change"

I really like the Hawkeye tbh and wish i had saved a bit more cash up for the spec c version.Alas i could only afford the blob version but after changing the rear end to a hawk eye i prefer it to any impreza on the market

I prefer the 06 hawkeye lights (with the darker bottom part) instead of the blobeye rear lights so i fitted those instead of the standard blobeye ones.I just think the blobeye rears look a bit dated now compared with the hawkeye ones which IMO freshens the car up a treat at the rear

I rushed to buy one of the last blobs as I really didn't like the Hawk. Now I think I prefer the Hawk.
However, the 2.5 WRX comes in at a higher tax bracket and uses more fuel, so I'm not too bothered.
As for the rear lights, I think the Hawk lights work well on a white car (like scooby-tc), but not on blue or black.

Hawkeyes are the best looking Impreza ever I'd say, each to their own and all that.
Keeping the rear lights and modding them with the black inserts looks sweet, same with the front lights as well.

I've got a pair of brand-new '05 rear lights if anyone wants them to fit to their Hawkeye (see 'For Sale' section).
I bought them shortly after getting my Hawkeye because I didn't like the 'Lexus Style' rear lights (a bit too 'Max Power'). Unfortunately I never got around to fitting them and now the Hawkeye's been sold I have no further use for them...
