Default Hawkeye WRX vs Newage S3

Had a play against a new Audi S3 and was surprised to find it was a fair bit quicker than the scooby.

How would the STI do against one.

265bhp, 0-62 in 5.5ish. And they're tuneable being a turbo. Get yours mapped and should be a breeze.

A simple remap of the S3 will see 310bhp, also as you know a massive amount difference in horsepower (or weight) must be present before either car will convincingly pull away.

310 BHP is the lowest map these days 320 to 330 bhp is common. With an exhaust and air filter more .
Downside to tuning a S3 compared to a Scoob is cost !!

Didnt know it was the drug dealers choice of car !

Driven a new s3 and yes it was very quick - its what made me mod my scoob as compared to standard it was faster.

But boy are they dull in doing it - quiet, characterless engine note, smooth power delivery - you only know your going fast by the speedo.

Forgot to add the other downside - the purchase price !!

standard wrx should be able to keep up with an s3, remap your wrx and it should ruin the s3

Think you need to re check the manufactors figures Wiley - Newage S3 ie 2007 and above quoted as 265 bhp & simlair torque, Most are comming out of the factory with a fair bit more around 280 / 290 bhp as standard !

I scare S3's with my Foggy. I now keep a flat cap handy for when they catch up or I slow for them to overtake! They don't like being whopped by a Farmers Car.

I've an S3 as well, mostly dont bother with the I've the fasted cars bit - but had a play with 2 STi and left then both shocked as to why the little Audi is keeping up / overtaking me !
Very different cars to a Scoob, a lot more laid back !

Weight of S3 is 1455kg with 261bhp & 258lb/ft2 torque.

Weight of MY07 STI is 1495kg (!) with 265bhp out the box or 300ish with PPP ...

Suitably humbled

Weight of MY08 is 1530kg (!) although it does have 296bhp doesn't it?

TX.

PS

I'm OK though - Spec C would eat it
