Question Geometry Setup

Having just lowered my car on Tein springs keeping the standard shocks, apparently I now have a negative camber on the wheels. The car is also now very slightly pulling to the right.

My question is can any garage who have a 4 wheel laser aligning kit set up my suspension or do I need to take the car to a specialist.

I was wondering if my local Subaru garage could do it as my nearest specialist would be AWD Motorsport in Perth which is a 200+ mile round trip.

Thank you.

Fitting the springs will completely ruin your alignment and I dare say its well out indeed ! When I had my prodrive springs fitted I had the alignment done 50 miles away and it was an interesting drive. Most Subaru garages get outside garages to do their alignment, I have never been to one that has Hunter 4wheel alignment setup. If it were me and I couldn't get to a specialist I would find a local tyre centre that has the facilities and tell them what settings to put on. Do a search for alignment settings or contact a specialist on here I am sure they will help you out. But yes you MUST get it re-done !

I had mine on a Hunter last week in Demon Tweaks in Wrexham. I must say it wasn't that bad to begin with but some aspects were out and I'm glad I got it done in the end even if the Geometry wasn't too far out.

I have just done a search about this and have read quite a few threads etc on the subject and I'm confused now. I know absolutely nothing on the subject. I have never and will probably never use my car on a track and am unsure how the car should feel even on the road. I'm no racing driver.

There seems to be a lot of different setups people have depending on their model of car and driving style so to be able to ask a garage to put a certain alignment setting on the car, they would probably look at me and laugh!

I have an 03 WRX and am needing some guideance please

negative camber is better than positive camber, negative camber means your wheels lean in to the car when you look at them (just look at the front wheels on a formula 1 car) when you corner the cars weight transfers and pushes the wheel over, so by having the wheel leaning in, the wheel will maintain maximum contact with the road. Negative camber will make the car turn into the corner sharper, and grip better throughout the corner. By having positive camber to begin with, you will wear the outside of the tyre out as the inside of the tyre wont have much contact with the road.
hope this helps

Cheers Iain, fully understood.

Whats the Hunter setup as mentioned above? Is it a piece of kit/equipment to align wheels that a garage owns?
