Bertie Fisher RIP

I too am gutted at the loss of both Bernie and Mark, and of course the other members of the family.
Can't think of much to add that would be comforting to those left behind, so best just to ponder it for a while.
Two top men. May they rally in the heavens to their hearts content!

Well said JF & SDB!
what can you say?
about as shocked as when I heard about Henri Toivonen (one of those 'everyone remembers where they were when they heard about Kennedy moments') just after picking my car up from servicing & girlfriend was sat in my car very palefaced)
Perhaps I should explain some weeks before we had talked to Henri at length in service halt - it just seemed like we had lost a mate . . .
My stupid / personal thing:
I use these guys names as passwords - then everyday I remember the joy of watching them in action - works for me anyway . . .
BF=top bloke - BUT I bet he'd rather it had happened behind a wheel.
Well I'm going to bed a bit sad tonight (not as sad as a week ago when one of our friends' little boy (2yr3mth) died of Meningitis
Hmmm, life is a bitch sometimes eh? <sigh>

I'm sure it was Mark Fisher that I was reading about in Autosport last year. Did Mark not win a ride in 3 outings in a full 206 WRC?
John, your picture of Bertie in that No. 1 Impreza is very fitting.
To lose any member of a family is tragic, but to lose 3 is beyond belief.
Life can be so cruel at times.......
Deepest Condolences to the Fisher Family

Yes, Mark won the inaugural Peugeot Super 106 Cup in 1999. We competed on some of the same events as Mark in our GroupA Cosworth, so we were able to follow his progress closely. It was obvious he had the talent to succeed.
His prize for winning the championship was 2 fully supported drives in the 206WRC car on WRC events, The 2000 Acropolis Rally and the 2000 Network Q Rally GB.
Just last week Mark signed a contract to drive for the season on the World Rally Championship for Peugeot in a 206 Maxi, to compete in the new to WRC category, the S1600 World Championship. This is seen as the last stage before a full works WRC car.
It’s very sad to see such a talent, at the brink of great success not be allowed to blossom.
This is the most recent photograph of Mark in action I can find, taken on the 2000 Network Q Rally GB in the 206WRC car.

A very sad day for rallying.
Bertie had been the backbone of Irish Taramac Rallying for such a long time, and Mark, I'm sure was on the brink of great success on the World Championship scene.
Both will be greatly missed.

Anyone who becomes a household name will always be missed but BF was more than that, he was an excellent ambassador to motorsport.
Over the years he has provided such as Motoring News with tales of success and defeat and has always been an inspiration to others especially at club level. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of his many friends and family he will be sadly missed.
