How is it possible that an sti type r v4 has a registered 1996 plate? I thought they were only maunufactured in late 1997?? I have seen one for sale and its 1996 and a genuine v4 by looks and by model code.

Nope definitely a v4, as I asked for the model code and its the facelift dash etc.

 

Well, as youve already pointed out, FHI didnt start building them until the end of 1997. Im sure that other posters will suggest that its stolen, but Id guess that the de-reg was falsified in order to register it as a ten year old car and avoid the requirement for an E-SVA.

 

Yep I rekon you are spot on, I didnt think of that and it makes sense as it was imported in 2006. Would one be inclined to stay clear for that reason?

 

It probs is a genuine version 4 ,sounds to me as tho he reg'd it as a version 3 so he didn't have to sva it.
