Jobsworth coppers: A45 Santa Pod area
Thanks to the awful weather, I didn't go to the Jap Fest at the Pod yesterday. However, I did drive the nearby A45 that feeds most of the traffic to the venue at lunchtime and have never seen so many police cars on that stretch of my local road. I am sure they were targetting Jap Fest-goers (I saw one Golf GTi being stopped). It's a poor show when the tax-payer has to fund extra Sunday shifts for the traffic police to enable them to pick on car enthusiasts, many of whom actually drive at sensible convoy speeds to and from such events.
I've got nothing against the regular patrols, but why waste all that money on an aggressive show of strength?

I hear what you,re saying and agree with parts, BUT there ARE also the minor majority of idiots that DO feel the need to go a million miles an hour on the road, yes , i,ve had my moments too so i,m not going to sit here and preech etc, but agree with you on the amount of policing, seems abit OTT imo..

i've been going to santa pod and drag racing for yrs now--- the police need to be about- there are some proper sheds and death traps turning up to these events - ditto total **** driving too.
in fact a mobile car crusher would be no bad idea- especially for all the barry boys look a likes
