Default HKS BOV Fitted

Ordered this Thursday early afternoon from ScoobyWorld and it arrived the very next day, fantastic service!.
Fitted this morning, only fiddley bit was getting the clip back on the intake pipe after fitting the blank, but that took all of 4mins. Its the V2 model with the vents added, which Im glade about, as another web site stated version 1 or 2 MAY be supplied.

Car runs perfect with it, I had read some people having running issues with it, stalling etc, but mines fine. Tick over revs were a tad lower than before on start up, but they seem to have sorted themselves out now.

Cool little flutter when driving like a normal person , then great when you give it some beans, most happy with product and ScoobyWorld (thanks guys).
Heres some pics of the said item:-

I love driving my STI around 24/7 (these cars have a habit of making you do that), I didnt think it was possible to love it even more, I mean I got a smile on my face every time I hear it.
In this day and age with the cost of everything, its the little things that count.

Just got back from another drive(3rd one today) after its weekly wash, and Im sure the exhaust is popping to itself a tiny bit more, now if only I can get it to spit flames lol

Any chance you could record a wee video of the sound then post it on youtube or somewhere then supply the link. The only sound I've heard from these is a high pitched squeek, I like a chattering sound. Does it do this too?

Go on Youtube and type in HKS SSQV in search, the 5th one down in the results is called 'new HKS SSQV BOV (insert/fin sound comparison)' The vid is japanese. The first insert the girl puts in - in the BOV I mean you dirty gits! - is the one that comes with the BOV and gives the whistle/whoosh sound. I think the other inserts can be bought as a set, probably only import from the US or Japan though.

Ah, here you go - YouTube - new HKS SSQV BOV (insert/fin sound comparison)

As for a chattering sound, I dont think a BOV can do that, the chatter comes from back pressure through the turbo blades I think, like on the rally cars. Am I right in thinking the rally cars dont have recirc or vta valves at all, hence the pressure goes back against the turbo fins and creates the chatter? I may be wrong if someone can shed some light?

Hope that helps.

I watched that one a while back, the sound I'm on about is on this video,

YouTube - Synchronic BOV Subaru WRX

I like the sound on "Brand X" with the surge apposed to the next bit with no surge.

thats the tightness of the spring type thing, if its not set right it will stall and not run well, if you have been playing with it you will need to have it fitted then adjust it untill your car runs smoothly, you may find when out on the road it may stall after you boot it abit, that just mean you need to wind it in a little more.

I stand corrected, I thought a BOV couldnt make the chatter/flutter sound, I actually really like that chatter sound from that vid. By the looks of things the Tial 50mm BOV had the wrong spring in and caused the flutter sound. I actually prefer it to the Synapse Synchronic SB001 BOV.
