Default getting 300bhp from a classic with standard turbo?

Is it possible to get 300bhp from a classic Impreza by just re-mapping/chips, uping boost, de-cat and air filters. Without changing the turbo?

Thanks,
Mike

Pretty sure you'll have a TD05, so should be easily capable of 300bhp

It's an early 1994 classic, so I'm not sure what turbo it has? I bought it advertised at 300bhp and haven't had it put on a dyno yet. Just wondering if it was possible because I'm sure the turbo on it is standard, I'm currently running 16.5psi through it. Not sure what the map is.

I'm 95% sure the TD04's weren't around in 1994, so i'm pretty sure you'll have a TD05 with the 90 degree entry. Any turbo other than a TD04 should give 300 bhp with a decent remap and supporting mods

OK, can anyone confirm that 1994 turbos are fitted with TD05 as standard?

Thanks Matt!!

There are a number of different turbos fitted to the Impreza range. Ranging from the smallest very responsive Mitsubishi TD04 as fitted to MY 97 onwards UK and Euro cars including pre 96 UK wagons.
Next there is the range of IHI VF series turbos fitted to 97-00 WRX and all STI 97 onwards
Finally the Mitsubishi TD05 as fitted to most pre 97 UK, Euro and WRX saloons

Don't know about standard but my MY93 has a TD05.

IIRC standard boostpressure is around 11 PSI.

Since having my Scooby-Ecu fitted mine went up to 16PSI.

Scooby-Ecu, Decat and Front mount = 302 BHP (ScoobyClinic rollers)

HTH

My classic is at 317 bhp (printout to prove) and I am running the TD04 Turbo.

The spec sheet that came with the car actually stated it was a TDO4-5 Hybrid, anyone shed any light on this?

Supporting mod's; Full Decat, Up and Down Pipe, Ported headers, Panel Filter.
