Default Knock levels from your Apexi PFC

Whats the max Knock levels you see from your Apexi.

I see about 8 on a normal drive and between 12-18 on an enthusiastic drive. Have been upto 25 once.

What is doing your boost control? if the powerfc then i would suggest youget something like a Apexi AVCR...did this years ago and it helped allot in controlling the Boost...my knock figures reflected the boost though i think never did show above 20...on a hard drive..

The power FC does control the boost, just curious as to what level other people see and what level is dangerous.

I am correct in think the AVCR is just an electronic boost controler? if so why would I need to run one along with the Power FC?

iv'e only recorded max 10 on my powerfc that was giving it some.

i always thought using sh-t fuel would give higher knock readings, mine is mapped for 97 ron normally use 99.

The power FC does control the boost...but the AVCR does it allot better..when the AVCR goes in, the POwerfc is no longer used for boost control...

The AVCR allows you to set and controll boost through out the rev range..and provide a better monitoring

Just been reading another thread and its says that standard the apexi has the limit set to 50, thats when the CEL comes on.

Maybe someone will correct this?

On the odd occasion you might see a really high figure but it might be something hitting the underneath of the car, near the knock sensor and this gets picked up.

Slightly different issue, although maybe not!
We have an early RA in, with an Apexi PFC. The Man noticed a lot of knock activity, and a vague tapping noise which got quieter as it warmed up. We took a look, and sure enough it was going crazy just blipping the throttle, even to the extent of putting the CEL on. We searched the exterior of the engine with a headset mic, came to the conclusion it was probably internal, and pulled it apart. Sure enough, broken piston ring lands on one cylinder!
All that knocks clearly isn't det..

ive had 85 on mine, showing on pfc, but depending on wat boost levels im running, the higher the setting and the closer to the redline the higher the knock, which the cel started flashing show backed off, but was running 1.7 bar
