Saw my first 2008 sti on road
It looked good though not sure black is the best colour, cant help thinking the saloons are starting to look dated

Bugeye was a big shock and probably is to some people me included I hated it but with the morrettes fitted they do look better.
must say i wouldnt have bought my car just looking at pictures, to see it in the flesh it looks mint imho.

my little input
the new car was designed for the masses, they want to sell more standard cars and the hatchback was the only way to go, it's silouete (hope thats spelt ok) could be a number of cars that are out there at the moment, unfortunatly the big wigs control the design of cars today so the saloon is dead for now
as for driving our old cars till they rot! your totally right! but my two door banger will always look better than a brand new starling

The Subaru impreza is a saloon it has a history that deserves respect. Mmmmm hatchback! Subaru should of given it another name. If i went out tommo for a new car i would be looking for the last of the saloons. They are reconised as an Impreza and not mistaken for an astra/mazda or some other bloody hatchback out there. Lets see if it proves its self

Just because a car is 8 years old it doesn't make it a crock of s**t or their owners some sort of poor relation. I've always had classics, and always will, simply as Subaru have produced nothing what-so-ever I'm interested in post 2001.

Black or White...the only colours the New STI looks good in....
I thought the Bug eye was a P.O.S when it was released (still do)...the blob was rushed out to make amends.....the hatch is way better imho...and will be the "current model" for longer too..
I quite like the fact it's not instantly reconisable as an Impreza.... makes driving through town easier without packs or Saxos and Corsas trailing you.... the big wing on the saloon screams barry far more...
But each to their own... I was quite glad when I sold my classic and got my Blob... and the jump is equally as big when I got my 08... cabin noise, build quality & refinement are worlds apart..

Why is it that when something different or new appears some people on here go out of their way to put it down. I have a MY99 Classic and a 08 STI and love them both, live and let live.
