Default Re-trimming STI seats

Anyone know if it is possible to re-trim later model (03-07) STI seats. The ones with black sides and blue backs. I know there were various different types but would imagine construction is the same for all of them.

Have read that some seats have the material bonded to the foam of the seat and hence re-trimming is difficult. Are the STI seats in this category?

The standard classic seats had removable covers I believe so a re-trim is easier.

Any ideas?

Cheers, so do you know if the old seat covering comes off or did they have to put any new foam into your seats when they remve the original covering?

The classic seats do not come off, there might be a zip in the back, but they are bonded to the foam..... can't comment on the newer ones, but if they have any sort of concave shape, then i suspect they're bonded......

I think maybe I haven't been too clear in my definition of bonding and removable.

A trimmer told me that the classic seats are retrimmable as the covers come off albeit with some effort i.e. they aren't removable in the sense you can take them on and off, but they are separatable from the foam backing.

He also said that some other manufacturers make seats where the covers are fully bonded to the foam and remiving them for a retirm damages the foam so badly that a retrim is not possoble without rebuildig the foam as well which is too costly and not as easy as it sounds.

As someone on this thread has had his 05 STI seats retrimmed in leather I am guessing they will be OK to do.
