You're right though - but the fact is that it is easy to make typos and I find it easy to read the text and miss the errors sometimes. For work, I rely heavily on built in spell checkers - email/Word etc.
But I've realised that I'm getting to be an old dude - old enough to have bought petrol using shillings and pence. I get the feeling that many people don't think spelling accuracy is that important anymore - especially on forums - just my 2 cents.

As a copywriter and a former journalist, it's good to see I'm not the only person who gets a little chafed at bad English.

Absolutely true Keith. The trouble is, where the masses have been brainwashed in this country by the Labour Government and it's circus clowns, we now have, as the majority, 'bleeding heart lefties', which I'm sure will appear on here imminently to maybe tell you how harsh they feel you are being making such statements. Trouble is people refuse to take full responsibility for themselves, they can only blame and attack others for faults that are clearly within THEMSELVES! The solution is to 'look within' always. Well, that's what I learnt on my Psychotherapy MSc degree. The only thing left in this country that is of vital importance is not ''offending'' anyone.

The spelling and grammar on here is just plain shocking, though I think there has to be some leeway for people who dont have the time to spellcheck every post and make the odd mistake every now and then. That includes people with reading and writing difficulties and the *ahem* younger members on here
However there is no ****ing excuse for txt spk and any other kind of bollocks that seems to litter these forums on a daily basis. If you cant even bother to express yourself on a motoring forum in plain english, what hope have you when submitting a CV or communicating with people in your job.
