Just emailed him the following...

Hi, I was looking at this car thinking it's a good buy for the price but this quote from your advertisement really put me off... "THIS CAR IS VERY VERY FAST WE HAVE HAD 155 MILES AN HOUR AND WE RUN OUT OF ROAD". I was interested, but if that is how you treat your cars before selling them (ie top speed runs etc.) I don't think Iwill be persueing said interest.

Regards,

Shall wait and see what their reply is. Is a little wreckless as it looks a good car, especially with the rebuild out of the way.

This guy might have done a germany trip, and gave it a legal top speed run, once! But still he should never advertise this when selling a car!

I must admit it's quite funny asking idiots stuff on ebay. A while back someone was selling a set of standard grey 380 injectors, advertising them as 'uprated, will give lots more power'. I asked what size they were, answer'not sure,320cc i think?'
I then enlightened him to a few facts about injector sizes,to which he told me to get a life. It's a shame really,as someone probably bought them on false advertising.

Looks like a nice car, but I'm not really a gambling man so wouldn't dream of putting £7k down on a P1 with no history

Not a bad car you say, but £7,100 - little expensive maybe?

So how come the parkers valuation is soo far out then?

Special edition? At the end of the day, it's still a 8 year old Ford Puma, not really Cosworth material or am I wrong there too

I stand corrected gentleman, humble pie is on me

I assume the parkers valuation doesn't take into consideration the 'special edition' value too.

I'm gonna try the 22b lol.

The racing puma looks in the pics a very nice example and a very tidy well looked after car, price looks ok to me

You cant go by the parkers guide all the time C.O.B as they can be way out on some cars

I had an immaculate clio 16v written off about 6 years ago and the offer from insurance company quoting the parkers guide was laughable, got over double in the end

the guy doesnt even have the docs for the car!!
buy a p1( cars which are known to go pop) with no history at all!
no grill too, i expect he will add to the listing saying it helps get air into the engine better and keep it cooler!

Dealers don't want to know about Parkers when you come to trade in. Interesting that they are happy to use things like that to get your valuation down though!
