If you trade in the mods will make no difference to how much a dealer will give, and with the crunch he will say he car'nt sell so offer you even less.
On a 02 52 he may offer you 6k on a sunny day.
Privert you may see 8k may be more if some body wants a moded car and dont want to spend all the kkkks you spent.

I dont want to trade it in, as want the cash to help toward buying a property, so will be sold private.

I was considering breaking it.

breaking is always good if people want yours stuff, but then it takes time and time is money, to brake it. Dont forget all the items left that peeps dont want dont want or mean to neg the idea, but if money is needed for a house then i would say you need it asap. Look on autotrader.co.uk to see what they bring standard. Add 2k for the mods. Nothing what i know now i would not have bought a standard uk turbo, as you never stop spending. I would have prob bought a well looked after moded 1.
anyways all the best in selling if thats what you end up doing.

My mates just got one exactly the same age as yours. Totally bog standard with 28k on the clock. 1 owner and fssh. He paid £6200 from a dealer!! To be honest, I would put it back to standard - everyone I know looks for standard cars! Just my opinion mate!!

Yes i thought the same when i bought mine 1 owner low miles, but still ended up spending 3k on engine build and gear box repair, and another 2k on performance mods. Still not got the bhp needed or want. Some people will buy the moded scoob if done right and API are good. Just keep all paper work you may get your 8k.

I agree mate, but I made the same mistake as you and just wanted something standard so I could put my own mark on it - given the chance I would buy one that's already sorted like you say!! Just think its harder to sell with mods on. In the back of my mind I would be thinking 'this has been whooped around a track a few times'

I don't think you'll get more than £6000 private sale. I know you've spent £40,000 on the car, but it will only be worth the same as if it were standard.

Your best bet is to sell it to somebody on here, who knows what the mods are. I hope you do get £8000 or over for it. Whoever buys your car will get a real bargin.

Good luck.

Just bung it on Pistonheads, here and a couple other Scooby sites.
Like martwrxsl says, an enthusiast will buy it if you can provide receipts and all the paperwork, and if you've had that much done I wouldn't part with it unless you can get a reasonable price. £6k is the price you pay for a standard car, and this is far from that - the wheels and body mods are probably worth over £2,500 alone!

Shame - I'd have bought yours if I didn't have mine already - good luck with the sale mate

A friend just sold a similar specced car for £7500, I think yours should be worth a little more than his due to the gearbox ???

Cookie

If you have no finance on it then Just stick oil and petrol in it and drive it until it dies in a few years time...sell off the expensive bits and leave the rest with a scrappy

Way cheaper than selling and financing a loan on a house/ buying another car.

It's worth way more than 6k,if you break it you'd get more than selling.
Try putting a parts swop thread up in the for sale, the box must be worth 2k plus someones standard box alone. Things like this will still give you the option of selling a complete car,but won't effect the sale price too much.
How bout getting in touch with Api,asking them if the'd be up for exchanging the parts you want plus cash?
