I am not sure that this is in the correct forum, but I am looking to clean my fuel injectors and was wondering what recommendations people might have.

Help/advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

James

Not cheap advice I'm afraid...

I believe it's best to have the injectors removed and ultrasonically cleaned. There are stories of fuel additive cleaners actually blocking the needles and/or causing cr@p spray patterns.

Richard,

Thanks for the advice but I have taken a gamble and tried some Redex. I will let you know how I get on. I can't afford your solution at the moment.

Cheers,

James.

Redex, hmmm thats one of those snake oil products I believe, bit like stop smoke and oil treatment stuff. (IMO of course, I do not want to be sued)

Doesn't the bottle say something like, just one addition of this magical elixir will cure all ills with your car, be it electrical mechanical etc etc

Miller Oils injector cleaner is supposed to be very good, I was going to try some.....

Redex worked quite well on my old Clio, but I wasn't going to risk it with the Scooby.

Really, thats interesting. I have wasted money on both those products before and they did absolutely nothing whatsoever.

I took the injectors out and got them cleaned which fixed the problem immediately (misfire due to leaning out).

Did you have a similar thing that this stuff fixed ?
